I am using the latest version of the downloaded 2013 timetable, and the sequence of events is as follows:-

Train 10146 approaches from Mulheim-Styrum at 0016 and a route is set from ESig Y to ASig P4. 10146 then proceeds into Track 004 and stops at Sperrsig 4w.

I cancel the overlap from ASig P4 by using Number Entry Panel 504->Right Cursor Key->End Key->Enter Key.

Sperrsig 4w still shows 'Proceed' and the route is still lit over Track 504 from Sperrsig 4w to ASig P4.

I then try to set a route using the ASig P4 shunt button to Abstellbf Track button 629 (not button Sperrsig 629) but the route will not call.

ASig P4 and Abstellbf Track 629 buttons light up pink but Sperrsig 614I flashes yellow.

I tried to set a shunt route from ASig P4 to Sperrsig 614 but again ASig P4 lights up pink, Sperrsig 614I flashes yellow and I get a message at the bottom of the screen stating "P4 -> 614I Startsignal in use already".

It would appear I am the first person to encounter this problem (I looked through the German posts as well), so I would really appreciate it if someone could tell be the correct procedure for getting a train from Track 004 to Abstellbf Track 629.

Allright, we have a mixture of systems in that area. Grey part on the left side is Sp Dr S 60, light green part on the right side is Sp Dr S 59.

Let's start with the left side. It puzzles me that none of the overlap routes seem to release automatically on that side, even though it is said to be Sp Dr S 60.

Overlap routes can be revoked using DHT.
For the trains into the direction "left" I expect that the overlap routes are being released after a certain time, once the train is at the platform.
Correct me if I am wrong, but timer of the auto-overlap release- should start once the train has passed the last switch into the platform track.

Main reason why I think functionality is not correct for this part is that there are to many situations for which overlap route revoking is required.

1. there are quite some trains ending at 708. Overlap is not released. So for shunt movement into 707, need to revoke overlap route
(hence I do not know if this track 708 has a alternative overlap route (short D-weg). There is a button, but the label is covered by the "Ein" light of SB

2. RB trains from D-Wedau, ending on track 001. This track has no short D-Weg possibility for sure. So now, the overlap at N1 always stays.

Now the right, light green area.

It's clear to me that overlap routes do not resolve automatically, and I know how to revoke suck overlap routes when needed.

Now tracks 002 and 003 are a bit of a bottle neck here. The remark in the Wiki says that it is better to set short overlap routes into that tracks.

So far so good. But does that mean that even the real dispatchers in EDG are doing that. What I wonder is, that if all this is such a bottle neck, why doesn't the Zuglenkung (ARS) system not set short overlap routes by default? Or is the system not designed as such?

Another thing I notice for track 002 on the right side is, that if the overlap route at signal P2 is active, the ARS system does not allow route setting starting at this isgnal P2. It can only be done by first revoking the overlap route, and then set/activate the route out of track 002. Happens both using ZNP as when using the ARS (zuglenkung) window. This might be a bug?
