I tried to do a multiplayer run of Düsseldorf-Gerresheim yesterday, but the multiplayer client program does not have a plug in for the sim, and it is unable to download one.

I regularly host sessions for a group of friends on a UK Based Signalling Simulation and have started to try and educate one of my group on Signalsoft simulations with the subtle and distinct differences. Quite a steep learning curve but worth the effort.

Just wondering if anybody has any suggestions as to which of the larger and/or newer simulations best lend themselves to Multi User sessions.

Advice/comments welcomed.

Supplementary question is whether there is much activity in way of open sessions hosted by the community or do these tend to be closed/private.

I was having a play around today with a friend and I managed to successfully start some sessions.

Two questions I was hoping some more experienced members might be able to help me with:

1. On one session the Client could see TC occupation and route set lights but nothing was displayed in the Train Describer berths. Is this linked to the Internet speed and a common issue?

2a. On the German simulations is it possible for the Host & Client to set routes simultaneously in the same interlocking area or does one route need to be accepted first?

2b. If there is a restriction does this apply to all simulations or is it only a restriction on larger simulations within the same interlocking area?

Thanks in advance for any comments/guidance received.

Do you consider possible to link simulations each other without an internet connection ?

Is too difficult or there are others problems ?

Thanks for reply

As I am not sure if it is due to network problems I used to have a hopefully simpel question.

Today I have had the Remagen simulation up and running for a while, and also setup the Dispatcher center function.

I looked up if my session was listed in the Multiplayer client.

And yes, it was, but only as a LAN session, not as a WAN session.

Of course, if I would want to connect myself, then I would have to choose the LAN session from the list.

However, I wonder what the impact is of the fact that I am not seeing it listed as WAN session.

My guess is that nobody can connect to my session, right?

Note: for i.e. Bonn both LAN and WAN entries are being shown

Hello!

I've updated a multiplayer version and couldn't connect to my friend's Post T Hengelo server more. We both only had a chat-window where we could talk, and a "Connecting" window with dots running circle. He gets the same when he is trying to connect to himself.

Server version is 1.6.1.9925 and the client (multiplayer) is 2.0.0.231 with the required plugin (Post T Hengelo).

Only installing the previous version of multiplayer (1.x.x.x) fixes the problem.

Thanks!

Has anyone else noticed that when somebody signs out of a multi-player sim that the host software freezes up? I can start a route but clicking the exit does nothing. The clock is frozen. Pausing the sim jumps the clock display ahead to the current point but does not resolve the freeze-up condition.

Folks, now that I'm familiar with Hengelo pretty well and feel comfortable with the server business I am generally open for multi-player sessions whenever I have Post T Hengelo running. Look for Server_Jim_Duncan in your server listings when starting the Multi-Player client.
